Kids Destroy Rebecca Black

Posted in Entertainment

Kids React is the newest YouTube channel that I have subscribed to, after I saw their “My Moment” episode about Rebecca Black:

Memorable Quotes:
“This is the best part”
“Why?”
“It’s the ending.”

“After that terrible abomination she’s like, ‘oh well I guess I’ll write another one about how great I am and how much money I made, that’ll make me look good – right guys?’”

“Responding to the haters in a song – GOD She’s so stup – She doesn’t understand the world.”

“I think she should put out another song that doesn’t have anything to do with everyone hating on her.”

“She’s working with two retards, I don’t really know what to tell her. First she looks stupid, then she looks mean… Can’t she just find someone to make her look normal..?”

“Rebecca. You are famous for being terrible. If you continue making more videos, you’ll get more famous, but you’ll still be terrible.”

Ahhh.. Very entertaining. As you can see, these are not bullies as Rebecca makes people like them out to be, just normal people articulating their disgust for her “music.”

Rebecca Black Bullied! Oh Noes!

Posted in Entertainment

You know, as much as I dislike Rebecca Black’s music and as much as I think her fame is undeserved, I can’t help but notice that a lot of positive things coming from it.  First of all, Rebecca Black portrays the image of an innocent, awkward teenage girl that I believe a lot of girls her age can relate to, which is a great thing.  Image wise, she comes off as a young lady and not necessarily slutty like other successful young female artists appear.  It is refreshing to see this audience finally become represented.

It is just so so unfortunate that Rebecca Black is so bad!  I won’t deny that a specific audience may enjoy her material, but the bulk of her fame is a result of her being made fun of.  I do not see anyone arguing against that.  I loathe the fact that she’s making money off being bad because there are a lot artists out there who put out good material and don’t receive recognition.  It would be great if the audience she is representing could have someone to look up to, I just think someone else should step up to the plate.

I read an article about Rebecca Black being bullied in school which can be found here.  As a result, her mother pulled her out of school and now she’s being homeschooled as a result.  Even though bullying sucks, the alleged “bullying” that took place was actually just innocent teasing.  As I’ve already mentioned, her fame was a result of releasing a terrible auto-tuned song with bad lyrics, so what do you expect kids to do?  Apparently they were singing “Friday” in a nasally voice while around her and asking Rebecca what day it was every Friday.  Cry me a river already.

In closing, I’m going to leave a parody of Rebecca’s new song “My Moment.” It’s already gone viral so chances are you might have seen it already, but if not, enjoy the laughs you bully.

It’s Friday – But Friday is Gone

Posted in Entertainment

This isn’t exactly new, but if you remember a while ago I wrote about the talentless singer Rebecca Black. She was made famous (infamous?) thanks in part to YouTube when her a music video for her song “Friday” was uploaded by a user.  When I originally wrote about this terrible song, the video had just hit 100 million views, not because it was good but because the song was incredibly bad.

The reason why I’m talking about it today is because her video has disappeared, which until recently was around 180 million views or something crazy.  Rebecca Black decided it would be a good idea to kill her publicity and file a copyright claim to YouTube had the video removed.  Rebecca Black then re-uploaded the video on her own fake VEVO YouTube page she had made, which was subsequently removed.

Until recently, searching for Rebecca Black – Friday would only turn up parody videos.  Someone recently re-uploaded a video but Rebecca Black will probably have that one removed eventually.  I guess the funny part about all of this is that she’s been made famous by these YouTube uploads, yet she’s trying to have these videos removed.  The VEVO move (or should I say attempt) was just so she could collect royalties every time someone watched the video (VEVO = ads).  That pretty much confirms that her existence in the music scene is only a lame attempt at making money – she’s just taking a different approach and trying to gain popularity by being so bad that her music becomes viral on the internet.

No Talent = 100 Million views

Posted in Entertainment

Congratulations Rebecca Black for making the worst music in history.  It’s pretty incredible Friday now has over 100 million views on YouTube, most of which I’m assuming is just to gawk at how absolutely terrible she is.  At the time I’m writing this, the video has racked up 275k likes and over 2 million dislikes.  The sad part is she’s probably making a lot of money as a result of the exposure from being terrible.  I guess what’s even sadder is Rebecca Black has been posting on her Twitter account bragging about reaching the 100 million views.  Hopefully she can fulfill her goal of most hated person in America… Good luck to you, RB!
